According to a definition found online…the meaning of inner strength is confidence or power that comes from within oneself. This is a very simple meaning and self-explanatory.
I agree completely within the definition given. As a growing female and teen, I have discovered we rely a lot on our inner strength to get us through our day. You need inner strength not to react to someone trying to get you angry, you need inner strength to conquer daily obstacles that come our way. Inner Strength to me keeps us in control and centred.
I believe my inner strength comes from God because when I am about to react to certain situations, I cast my mind back to him and that keeps me grounded. Also when am losing my physical or mental strength, I usually just say a prayer and before I know it, am back and I thank him for that. Let me give an example, I just came back from a trip and the moment I landed got a call from work to come in and I was very tired, but I knew I just had to. Knowing I will be walking around for most of the time, weaken my heart because I knew how tired I was. However before I started work, just said “God give me strength for today” and I was able to get through the shift and for the following 3 days. I rely a lot on God for my inner strength. Everyone has a different source who gives them inner strength. Other people look at the bigger picture when facing difficult situations, or family or friends, some just look at the end goal.
Whatever is the source of your inner strength do not let it go. Try to draw more from it and you will see you will be able to accomplish more. Inner Strength can also relate to motivation. Many times I have lost motivation to do many things with my life, but I always try to remember what I am doing and why I am doing them. My biggest motivation is my Mother, she also gives me inner strength, thinking of her and everything she has done or is doing for me, just wakes me up and gets me back to gear and I am able to complete what I was trying to do.
Points to take
- we all need our inner strength
- find the source of your inner strength and hold on to it
- Set goals for yourself to achieve
- Motivate yourself more and push yourself
we usually disregard ourselves, we are a lot stronger than we think and it is usually all in our mind. Free your mind, you free yourself.
I’ll just leave you with this bible scriptures: Reading Psalm is a great source of strength, as it is a reminder to you and to God.
I will love You, O LORD, my strength. The LORD is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer; My God, my strength, in whom I will trust; My shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold. I will call upon the LORD, who is worthy to be praised; So shall I be saved from my enemies.
For You will light my lamp; The LORD my God will enlighten my darkness. You have also given me the shield of Your salvation; Your right hand has held me up, Your gentleness has made me great.
The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters. He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness For His name’s sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.
