My Favourite Verses

I have many favourite verses, but chosen just three and want to share them with you.

Proverbs 3:5
‘Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.’ (NIV)

I am sure many people have this verse as a favourite. I love this because there have been times I will be questioning God, and be like really or be wanting to do things my own way , but then I realise God knows what he is doing, I do not. I prefer to lean on him in times of decisions because he knows best. I see things as they are now and might have an idea of how they may be later, but God knows the past, present and the future, so why not trust him with everything single thing, no matter how small or big. He cares about every little detail of our lives.  Parents when you know your child trusts you, you will do everything you can not to put them in harms way and if they may not understand why you said NO or stopped them, they will have that faith in you that you know what you are talking about. Some of us may be stubborn and still do things our way, but God is patient and he always ready for you and to trust him again.

Jeremiah 29:11
“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” (NIV)

Can somebody just say AMEN!!! Now this verse is being more constant for me now. I have  finished my undergraduate degree (thank God), and its now the what’s next? Everyone has already asked me so what’s the plan and am just like errrrrrm lool. God has a plan but its not for everyone’s ears, but for people to see when the time comes. There are moments I look at where I am now and become doubtful which is something I am improving on, that’s thanks to this verse. Nobody knows tomorrow and no one can see your future, expect you paying attention to what God is telling you. We all have purpose and it is great if you know what that is, some of us are still figuring that out. (A book I can recommend to the ladies is When a woman discovers her dream by Cindi McMenamin). One thing we need to understand is whatever your purpose is in life it will always come back to bring glory to God. Within that purpose he is going to empower you, strengthen you, rescue you from harm, prosper you, shower you with his favor, grace and blessings. a plan or purpose that will give you hope, hope for others as well and an amazing future.  I am so excited for my future :D. All these comes from HIS plans for you, not yourself, your pastor, mother/father,  boyfriend/girlfriend, husband/wife, mentor,  siblings or  friends, but the Almighty God, the One who breathed life to you, who knows every hair on your head and made you not be be fearful, but to have a sound mind, power and love. So tell me why he would want to harm his wonderful and fearfully made creation. Trust in the Lord always.

Psalm 119:105
‘Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.’ (NIV)

This verse is a favourite because of a dream I had some years back. I was walking on a road and all of a sudden the road split into three. There were people on each road calling me to come walk their way and trying to attract me with things that I wanted, but then I noticed another road, much narrower and darker than the others but there was a lantern lighting the way . I followed the light, it attracted me more but the road was dark and lonely, there was no one there calling my name and I could not hear the other voices.  I kept on following the light it was as if it was directing my way, it was moving itself, no one was holding it, and then God said ” I will always light the way for you in the midst of darkness” and he dropped the bible verse in my heart, I woke up and looked it up and bam here we are. From that day henceforth I begin the proclaim it to my life. God’s word never fails, one thing I know. There have been times of complete darkness and loneliness in my life but God always shines his light just at the right moment. He saves me every time and keeps putting me back on the narrow road, no matter how many times I have turned back to follow the voices.

I have many more favourites, but this verses relate to me right now that is why I picked them, and as each season changes so does the verses.

My question to you is what is your favourite verse(s) and why?? I asked my mum and she said Psalm 27 and I know why. Someone might be encouraged by your story behind the verse. I hope this has blessed someone.

Stay Blessed, have a beautiful week and remember to read your bible 😀 xx

My favourite verses or chapter in the bible is Psalms 91. My mother taught me this chapter and it will always stay with me.

    Loved this. Great read! 🙂
